A temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva, Mukteshwar Temple is one of the most popular in all of Bhubaneswar. The architectural design of the temple is similar to that of the Kalinga School of Temple Architecture. It also shows some influence from Buddhism such as the ornamental arch gateway. Basically, the temple has done a great job of mixing traditional architecture styles with modern (at that time) architecture. It is because of the temple's architecture which is why it is called the "Gem of Orissa architecture".
Another more interesting feature of the Mukteshwar Temple is the holy well. It is said that those who take a dip in the well will be cured of infertility.
