When visiting the Cayman Islands there are a number of things that should be remembered.
Road action
Like other Caribbean islands, Cayman Islands drive on the left. Thus, road signs are on the left. Visitors, especially those who are not used to driving on the left side are advised to be very careful. The roads can be dangerous for amateurs. As much as possible travelers should drive slowly and very carefully.
Another thing that must be noted as regard being on the road in Cayman Islands is the crabs. There are lots of crabs in this country, and they are not confined in the water alone. These crabs both giant and small cross the streets. Unfortunately, when they get hit, they can pop tires, especially those which are as big as plates and with really hard and thick shells. Thus, tourists who are renting cars are asked to be careful with these crustaceans.
Tropical dilemma
The country is a tropical country, almost all year it is bathed with sunlight. Thus, tourists are asked to carry around sunblock to avoid being burnt. They are also advised to drink ample amounts of water to keep their skins hydrated and moisturized. This is also to prevent heat stroke.
Also, relative to the tropical climate of the island, travelers are also asked to bring mosquito and other insect repellants. Although there is not a rampant case of malaria or illnesses carried by mosquitoes it is still best to be safe from bites of insects that inhabit the island. After all, an ugly rash may ruin a perfect swimsuit.
Aside from these, the islands are relatively safe. It may only take a few adjustments for it to be completely safe.
