The cuisine of Cayman Island is simple and resembles traditional Caribbean cooking. However, due to mix up with other nations, like Jamaica and Britain, there are hints of foreign palate in them as well.
Original carib
The most common dishes with Caribbean touch are those made of cassava, like cassava cakes, pastries and all. There is also Johnny cakes, bread fruit, and meat pie. These all have tastes that are original to the islands of the Caribbean alone.
Jamaican flavors
Aside from genuine Caribbean tastes, tourists may also get some dishes with Jamaican roots. Available in most restaurants and eateries are dishes cooked with jerk seasoning. Main ingredients vary from chicken, fish, and other meat. At times, turtles are made into soup, stew and steak.
