The main influences of the Cayman culture are the countries of United Kingdom, North America, and Jamaica. Among the 52,000 population of the islands, only an estimated 20,000 are natives. For this reason, the culture is varied depending on the concentration of races. For instances, areas filled Jamaicans, dominant culture will be Jamaican in nature, otherwise, it may be a combination of any of the three.
People
Caymanian people are known to be surrounded by an air of independence. They are strong spirited and very courageous. Their main source of income, before the islands became famous for tourism was fishing and from being merchant seamen.
Religion
The country's religion, as one aspect of culture also varies depending on location. Nevertheless, the major one is Christianity which originated from the British. During December, time stops as the whole island celebrates Christmas.
Language
The islands' main language is also called Caymanians as its people. Other languages also commonly spoken include Jamaican patois, which is integrated into this generation's Caymanian language.
