The Island's people
The British Virgin Islands are not only good vacation spots for its surroundings, but also because of its people. As the islands are, inhabitants are welcoming yet reserved people, a very friendly and vibrant mix of West African, European, and American descendants.
Language
The official language is English. However, the most commonly spoken by the people is Creole. In other regions, people speak Spanish, French, French Creole, and some Danish.
Religion
The major religion in the islands is Christianity, with Roman Catholicism garnering the most population. The second with the most number of members is Rastafari, which is more of a way of life rather than purely religion. The remaining part of the demography is divided among Muslims, Hindus, Buddhism and other religions
Festivals to experience
Aside from the people and the wonderful beaches to enjoy, BVI's are visited for their festivals. In August, everybody celebrates the country's emancipation (Tortola) to the utmost. Travelers are invited to celebrate with them for a whole week, non-stop. They may join the Sweetheart's of the Caribbean Race and Parade or enlist a vessel in the Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival.
