Barbados is a good country to visit. Enjoyment and safety may be assured if travel pre-warnings are heeded. Here are some of the things travelers should look out for in the island.
First, the country has a tropical climate and sometimes unfamiliar plants and animals appear on its lands. There is a so called Manchineel Tree which looks very cute but actually very dangerous. It is a small plant that grows in the country. Its parts can cause medical problems like burns, inflammation and the like. People are asked to be wary of these plants and to stay away from them.
Another is the sea urchins. Barbados beaches are lovely but after a storm, the water carries sea urchins in shallow waters and even on the shores. People are asked to watch their steps as urchin spine scan sting bad. Plus, they are not as easy to pull out of the skin as many thinks.
A third warning are for vacationers who are planning to rent a vehicle while on the island. The country drives on the left. Those who are not familiar with this system are asked to drive slowly to avoid road accidents.
Relative to driving is about the roads themselves. There are streets which are not well lighted. It only lights up when other drivers turn on their headlights as they pass by. Thus, driving tourists are asked to be very careful when traversing these paths. Accidents may happen anytime.
