The culture of Barbados may simply be described with the words love of fun and enjoyment. The people are very warm and welcoming. They insist on living life to the fullest and having all the share of fun life has to offer. The island of Barbados is frequently visited secondly because of this nature of the folks.
Aside from these core attributes, the island's culture may also be considered as a hybrid of sorts. There are customs derived from some African and Amerindian settlers, while there are also aspects of lifestyle influenced by foreign settlers. The music, for instance, is mainly jazz, which is derived from the African people. Also, the religion of the country has a hint of which nation came to be assimilated in the country. Most of the people are Anglican, adopting it from the Brits, while some are Roman Catholic, which was surely introduced by the Spanish and Portuguese settlers.
The countries festivals or celebrations were also taken from the foreign settlers. The Barbados Jazz Festival, celebrated annually was influenced by the African Jazz sounds. The Barbados Landship was an imitation of the British navy fleet, and the Crop Over, the most important Barbadian celebration, is British in nature.
