Barbados food is a combination of genuine Carib cuisine and some international tastes brought in by the foreign settlers. The dominant taste is spicy. However, there are still dishes which are not on the chili side.
Barbados food comes in several varieties depending on the activity in the itinerary. There are restaurants for a quiet sit-down dinner, fast foods for a quick stomach-filler, and side-street stalls that offer eats that may be taken on a stroll.
The best foods that tourists may try in Barbados are side street grilled pigtail, fried kingfish, pepper-pot and conch fritters. There are also Bajan Macaroni pie and fried flying fish and Bajan black eye peas and rice which are available in specialty restaurants around the island.
