In coming to South Korea, a visa is not immediately required for countries like USA, Australia and more than 30 other countries. A passport and other identification documents are enough unless the person coming from these countries is meaning to stay longer than three months. For Italian and Portuguese nationals the permitted stay is only two months or 60 days. While most European countries are exempted from visa requirement for a number of days, countries like the Philippines, China, India, and Nigeria are not. Nationals from these countries are required to present visa with or without the intension of staying more than 60-90 days.
To secure a visa for an intended longer stay in the country, it is best to have all the necessary documents at hand. The general visa requirements are one fully-filled out visa application form, two passport photographs, one valid passport, one copy of health insurance confirmation letter, and a proof of travel like a plane ticket or a hotel booking in one of the cities of the country. After presenting these documents in the nearest South Korean Embassy, the visa will be processed immediately. After five days, the visa with a validity of up to three months from the date of issuance will be released and the aspiring tourist can now continue planning the itineraries for a fulfilling trip to the Land of the Morning Calm.
