Sadly, the once beautiful Ta San Mosque was almost completely destroyed during the time of the Khmer Rouge regime. This left scars and bullet marks on the mosque.
Today, the Ta San Mosque has been renovated and is now home to devotees of the Jahed sect of Islam. Visitors are welcomed at this place of worship and the Imam is very friendly.
An interesting note about this mosque is that the person who brought Islam to the country is buried here.
