Civil unrests
There numerous protests that happen almost every day in Buenos Aires. Although not entirely violent it is very noisy and causes heavy traffic. It becomes a nuisance when desiring to take a tour of the city.
Cash
As in other countries, it is better to walk around in Argentina with cash or ATM on one's pockets. Carrying around checkbooks is a total hassle. It will require waiting in long lines to have it exchanged.
Another matter as regards cash in Argentina is that the country has a currency which is not accepted in some areas of the country. Travelers should be careful when receiving change. It is best to check every bill. Pesos are the ones which are widely accepted.
Petty crimes
Petty crimes like theft and extortion happen often in this country. People going to Argentina should be aware and careful with their belongings. It is good to have them in the safe of the hotel or carried around in belt bags where it is seen easily.
Language
Some people, mostly cab drivers do not speak English. For travelers to get to their hotels and destinations safely, it is best to have the business card or brochure of the destination to show the driver. Though the driver may not understand what one is saying a picture always paints a thousand words.
