Come to Key West only if you are in a mood to totally enjoy your holidays, as it offers unlimited fun, 365 days of the year. It is basically an island and is located in the Straits of Florida. Wining and dining can be real fun in Key West as there are a very large number of restaurants and bars which serve delicious local seafood. Add to that the scenic beauty of the Atlantic Ocean in the background and your evening meal can turn out to be real blissful in Key West.
Catch a glimpse of the local flavour by walking down the narrow lanes of Key West. This will allow you to observe lovely old wooden houses which have been maintained immaculately and adorned with healthy tropical trees.
A visit to the Monument which indicates the southernmost point in continental United States is essential as you get to photograph the concrete replica of a buoy located at the corner of South and Whitehead Streets. This is a very popular tourist spot and a big hit with all of them.
There are lots of options for the kids too. The Key West Nature Preserve allows them to take trails through mangrove forests while the Bayview Park is the right spot to play games of all kinds. Mallory Square is a waterfront park, where the children can see an amazing view of the sunset as well as catch open-air performers too. The Turtle Kraals Museum offers views of the sea turtles. Lastly, the Eco-Discovery Center, an airy theatre, is again very popular with the kids for its information shows on reef and mangrove habitats.
