Boston Travel Guide
One of America's oldest cities, Boston still remains as one of its European in feel. Like many European cities, Boston is best explored on foot. When visiting Boston, you will explore neighborhoods with distinct persona, familiar brown stone lined streets, the beloved Red Sox and of course big city entertainment. Boston, a vibrant and thriving city is renowned for its cultural facilities, world class education institutions, champion sport franchises and its foothold at the very forefront of American history. Compact, walk able, historic and clean the city blends old aura and modern convenience effortlessly.
If you have a few days in Boston, then the best way to explore it is to simply pound the pavement. The past reflects from everywhere, from colonial buildings downtown to the grand 19the century mansions in south End to cozy museums. If you want to further dig into the past, then you must visit the Boston Massacre site that marks the spot where the first blood was shed for the American independence movement. You can also visit one of the city's stellar museums, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum or the Museum of Science. Then head for Cambridge and take a tour round Harvard University or hang out in the Harvard Square. With your entire family, you can move north for a day trip to explore the beaches of Salem and Gloucester. You can feast your eyes with a bird's eye view of the city from the Prudential Sky walk and watch sail boats from the Christopher Columbus Water Front Park.
Boston is a boating enthusiast's paradise. You can choose from canoes, sailboats and windsurfing to taste your skills and mood on the Charles River or Boston Harbor.
You can laze around on the beaches along Cape Cod either taking a tantalizing massage or getting the right tan or then dipping in to feel the cool, refreshing and foamy waves of the sea water. Old Silver Beach is Falmouth's most popular spot with natural trails and long sandy stretches.
Cycling on the Charles River Esplanade is a cardio intensive way to see the sky line and offers fantastic views of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
Boston's night life displays every thing from classical music recitals and theatre to clubbing and Irish pubs.
