Daegu Travel Guide
South Korea's fourth largest city, Daegu, is a pulsating metropolis whose few yet noteworthy offerings might put even the national capital Seoul down on its knees. Daegu is packed with towering skyscrapers and congested streets, mirroring the country's relentless efforts to be at par with its global competitors. The premier landmark here is the Woobang Tower, which lords over the city's spread of modern architecture. History-buffs who want a glimpse of the local history may want to visit the Daegu National Museum, which houses an array of pottery, Buddhist images, and dioramas.
Found north of the town is the Bullo-Dong Tumuli Park, the final resting place of Daegu's nobles and peasants alike. It is also an overt display of the city's social hierarchy as people are buried here depending on their status in life: the higher the person is in the hierarchy, the higher his place is on the hills.
