Prices are also 33 percent more than Hungary but Croatia is still more expensive. Its currency was once the Slovenian tolar (SIT) but now the country uses the euro (€, EUR).
Prices depend on their location in the country. A beer in the Ljubljana will cost 3.00 EUR (4.31 USD) but anywhere outside is only half the price. Backpack travelers can survive on 30.00 EUR (43.06 USD) a day staying in hostels and eating in self-service restaurants. Budget travelers who stay in guesthouses, travel second class in public transport, and eat at midrange restaurants can survive on 50.00 EUR (71.76 USD) daily. More comfortable accommodations, splurging on wine and spending for nightlife will cost about 100.00 EUR (143.52 USD) daily in the capital but about 75.00 EUR (107.64 USD) to 80.00 EUR (114.82 USD) in the provinces.
