More about Slovakia costs
Slovakia’s official currency is the Euro (EUR, €). All banks have exchange desks, with some branches within the city’s old town square. Smaller areas also have ATMs except in minor villages so getting money around the country won’t be difficult. Credit cards and debit cards like Visa, Vis Electron, Mastercard, and Cirrus Maestro are accepted in many shops and restaurants in the large cities.
Fare prices are equivalent to the journey’s length in the capital Bartislava. A fifteen minute bus ride costs 0.50 EUR (0.72 USD), while a 60 minute ride is 0.70 EUR (1.00 USD). You can get a Day Travel card for 3.50 EUR (5.02 USD), a 2 Day Travel card for 6.50 EUR (9.33 USD), and a 3 day travel card for 8.00 EUR (11.48 USD). Traveling from city to city through trains costs 13.94 EUR (20.01 USD) for a single ticket. Longer routes will cost about 16.59 EUR (23.81 USD). Budget hotels charge between 40.00 EUR (57.41 USD) to 65.00 EUR (93.29 USD) a night. Midrange hotels will cost about 50.00 EUR (71.76 USD) to 100.00 EUR (143.52 USD) while top end accommodations cost between 200.00 EUR (287.04 USD) and 400.00 EUR (574.09 USD). Special weekend rates apply.
