Understanding a culture of a country involves looking at the pieces of art that their artists have created. This is exactly what the Singapore Art Museum has to offer. The museum is home to the largest collection of contemporary art by Singaporean and Southeast Asian artists in the whole world with over 7,500 pieces of art. The Singapore Art Museum is actually housed in a restored mission school from the 19th century. Some of the works included in the museum are from pioneer artists such as Liu Kang, Chen Wen His and Georgette Chen. They are among the leading contemporary artists in Southeast Asia today. Visitors can also catch a blockbuster show every now and again.
