The Glossary
Penoy - "the lesser known sister of the balut, it is a supposed balut whose embryo had not developed. it is commonly sold by balut vendors and is the choice of the not-so-adventurous."
At the heart of Manila are the Orchidarium and Butterfly Pavilion. This is an oasis for those looking for a nice and quiet place. It is filled with lush green plants and even a mini forest. This park and ecological preserve began just as a simple one hectare donation. In 1994, the Orchidarium and Butterfly Pavilion were established and it houses some of the richest collections of orchids.
The Butterfly Pavilion showcases these wonderful insects in all their glory. Each stage of a butterfly's life cycle is shown in the pavilion. Not only is this a serene place to relax away from the city, but the Orchidarium and Butterfly Pavilion also offers a chance to learn more about nature.
