Root crops such as kaukau, taro and yams, as well as pig and sago, comprise the traditional foods of Papua New Guinea. A common dish is mumu, made of sweet potatoes, roast pork, greens and rice. Mangoes, pineapples, bananas and other local fruits are also included in a meal.
