The unimpeded view of the northwestern Himalayan Mountains is reason enough for many tourists to head up the quaint hill town of Kakani. Only a short hike away from the capital Kathmandu, it is nestled at an elevation around 2,002 meters above the ground, making it a favorite haunt for those who yearn to see the peaks of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Garuishanker, and Annapurna. Probably the highlight of any visit to Kakani is witnessing the scenic surroundings during sunrise and sunset, when they are at their most attractive.
