Old Fortress

One of Akko's must see destinations are the Old Fortress, otherwise known as the British Fortress. It offers a lot of history and interesting facts. It is located just across the Walid's Gate hostel.

The Old Fortress was in the 12th century. Part of the sea wall, which was refaced by Al-Jazzar in the 18th, is still visible today. It runs to the south and goes around the harbour.
