Alborz Travel Guide
If pilgrims flock to the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza, novice and advance climbers head to the extensive ranges of the Alborz. It is viewed as a thrilling experience to traverse Mount Damavand, its highest peak, and uncover its majestic trails around the renowned Castles of the Assassins. The magnificent ranges of Alborz stretch from the borders of Armenia to the Caspian Sea. The Tangeh Savashi is another range of the Alborz, a popular attraction due to its narrow canyon and its rivulet with verdant surroundings and diverse wildlife. The relic of the Qajar guard tower is still standing at the top of the mountain.
Another peak that stands high in Alborz is the Tochal Mountain, adjacent to the bustling capital Tehran. Gondola lift is offered to the locals and tourists from Tehran to the Tochal Ski Resort. The Alam Kuh, on the other hand, provides an appealing mountaineering route to the adventurous local and foreign climbers. Every year, its northern face attracts European climbing teams coming to discover its hidden splendor.
Dizin, another range, has a large ski resort renowned for its excellent snow and is known for being one of the highest ski resorts in the world. It provides a great venue for ski enthusiasts and assures an exhilarating skiing experience. Its hidden valleys are convenient places for camping and picnics.
