Nestled in the mountainous region of Sikkim, Ravangla (or Rabongla) is a popular tourist hub because of its close proximity to several rustic attractions. This bucolic highland town features cool climate, lush vegetation, and a pleasant mix of Nepali and Indian locals. While the town itself bears no particular place of interest aside from the postcard-worthy views and rustic charm, it does make for an ideal springboard to the surrounding lures.
A popular attraction near the area is the Rayong Sunrise View Point, whose sweeping mountain panoramas are best seen at daybreak. Considered as Sikkim's most scenic vantage point is Temi Tea Garden. Fans of ages-old beverages may want to try the Sikkim tea, the region's specialty.
After a palate-cleansing break, avid backpackers can head to the Ralang Monasteries, home to the followers of the Kagyupa Buddhist sect. Though it may prove to be a taxing trek, a visit to the Ralang Hotsprings, past the monasteries, might be a satisfying reward.
