Estonia’s national currency is the kroon (EEK), with an exchange rate of 15.64 Kr to the euro. The kroon comes in 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, and 500 denominations. Coins come in 5, 10, 20 and 50 sents. Ones and fives also come in kroon coins. Being a post-Soviet country, prices here are much lower compared to Western Europe. Prices continue to grow steadily and tourist areas charge the same as Scandinavia.
Transportation costs are very cheap, but buses charge lower compared to train tickets. When riding a bus, it’s more practical to book a large number of tickets for several trips.
