Good waves and seclusion are the bribes of La Caleta de Famara for surfers. This low-key coastal hamlet, however, is not exclusive to wave riders. It puffs with a youthful, bohemian vibe for its virtually unmanned beaches, dramatic cliffs, and few restaurants overlooking the rolling waves. Some surfers are even betting that the swells here are among the best in Europe.
A seaside town in Lanzarote, La Caleta de Famara is connected to the Canaries' capital, Arrecife, via buses.
