Pripyatsky National Park Travel Guide
The Pripyatsky National Park is Belarus' natural gem-an unspoiled swampland that distinguishes itself from the country's predominant barren, flat fields. Making it even more refreshing are the air currents that come by to re-oxygenate the area. Although a swamp is not the usual go-to nature destination, the Park exudes an eerie yet arresting aura.

The Park is an outdoor-traveler's haven, containing over 800 plant species, 200 bird species, and 50 mammal species. Within those numbers are 7 kinds of reptiles, 37 types of fish, and 11 types of amphibians. Travelers might want to look out for unique animals like snake-birds, European bison, black storks, and grey cranes. Adding to its unique fauna are reed toads, startlets, and eagle owls. In the park's museum and headquarters, there is an informative exhibit of the wildlife exclusive to the vicinity. The area is also known for its river cruises. Adventure junkies will have a blast as they take a boating expedition through the marshlands.
