Hell on the streets

Don't be surprised when you ride buses or taxis and find out that the Turkish drivers somehow become nuts when they take to the streets.

Traffic rules? Forget them.  In Turkey, few ever care to signal when turning left or right, many switch lanes at will, they step on the gas pedal like there's no tomorrow, and honk like crazy.  Pedestrians?  Don't even try to get near those rampaging vehicles.

So there's your warning.  Just brace yourself and hope for the best.
