Um Phang would probably have remained an unknown travel frontier, if not for the largest and most impressive waterfalls in all of Thailand - the Nam Tok Thilawsu. Found in the Tak Province and threading the borders of neighboring Myanmar, it is an off-the-beaten-path destination that is worthy of a visit. Probably its most famous attraction is the Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
