Chulalongkorn University
Established on March 26, 1917, the Chulalongkorn University is the oldest one in Thailand as well as the most prestigious one. There is a total of eighteen faculties in the university as well as institutes and schools.
The Chulalongkorn University was established by King Rama VI by combining the College of Medicine and the Royal Pages School in honor of his father.
The university features a seated statue of King Chulalongkorn at the east side of the campus. The monument is surrounded by offerings to the late king.
An interesting note for travelers and tourists are the architectural styles of the buildings. They are designed with a mix of traditional Thai architecture along with revival of Italian architecture, making the buildings some of the most unique in all of Bangkok.
