Just east of the Vimanmek Mansion is the Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall. This structure was completed in 1904 and it is a simple one story building that was commonly used for state occasions such as when a foreign ambassador visits the city during the time the Dusit Palace was still in use.
Over the years, the building wasn't used at all and slowly degraded. In 1993, the building was restored and opened to the public. Today, the Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall has an exhibition of arts and crafts which were produced locally under the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupation and Related Technology.
