Ximending

Ximending is very historical in Taiwan as it is the first pedestrian area built in Taipei and is still the largest in all of Taiwan. The cross section is made out of the Zhonghua road, Hankou road, Chengdu road and the Kangding road.

Today, Ximending is very popular among the locals especially among the youth as it has become an important consumer district in Western Taipei. An estimated number of 3 million shoppers come here every month and it has been called the Harajuku of Taipei. Several stores line this pedestrian area such as the Wannien Department Store, bookstores that sell Japanese books, CDs and clothing, fast food chains, clothing shops and electronic shops among others. As the locals say, if its trendy then you can find it in Ximending.
