One of Singapore's most recognizable buildings is the Sultan Mosque. It has a huge prayer hall which can accommodate approximately 5,000 worshipers and has been in existence for more than 80 years now, but what really defines this building is its large, imposing golden dome on top of the building. It is considered to be the most imposing religious building in all of Singapore. The Sultan Mosque was designed by Denis Santry and was completed in 1928. Visitors to the mosque should remember to dress conservatively and avoid shorts and skirts. This is a place of worship and proper attire is expected.
