Whenever commuting by bus, jeepney, or mega-taxi, you should always be mindful of your possessions (bags, jewelry, cellphones, etc.).  Thieves are rampant, especially in Manila, and some even go to so much as to commuting with others just to catch them off-guard.  Just remember to refrain from flaunting your cellphone or wearing eye-catching accessories when roaming the metro.
