Traveling in Bhutan with young kids can be challenging, because of the long drives between destinations and the lack of entertainment in hotels, no TVs. High altitude can also have some effect on the kids. Make sure you have enough sun protection gear, hats, sunscreen and glasses for the little ones as well, and that you bring along some books, dolls, papers and crayons and lots of patience. Bhutanese kids are generally friendly and happy to accept tourist kids to play with.
