Malaysia Traveler guide

Particularly the Muslim places in Malaysia like Trengganu and Kelantan, ladies are advised to dress very conservatively, and as much as possible travel with someone.  Those places are hotspots for sexual assaults, and the worst thing is that the police there won't even mind or help you.  Best advice is to cover-up, have a fellow traveler with you, or just avoid those places.
