Temple of Obelisks

The Temple of Obelisks is found near the Temple of Baalat Gebal. Similar to the latter temple, the Temple of Obelisks was erected in honor of the goddess Asarte who is known as the Lady of Byblos. The obelisks are engraved with several hieroglyphics.

Over the years, the site has accumulated over a thousand votive offerings. These offerings to the Temple of Obelisks include smaller obelisks, hippopotami, images of Taweret, small figurines and human statues covered with gold leaf.
