The Tokyo National Museum was established in 1872. It is currently the largest and the oldest museum in the country. They have exhibits that show collections of several pieces of art and archeological objects found all over Asia and has something to do with Japan. Today, they hold over 110,000 objects; 610 of these pieces are Important Cultural Property Holdings and 87 of them are Japanese National Treasures.

There are seven galleries in the Tokyo National Museum, each of them showing different materials. The museum also features shops, restaurants and outdoor exhibits. Information about the different pieces of art and archeological objects are available in seven languages namely Japanese, Korean, Chinese, French, German, Spanish and English.
