Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya
Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya is a Buddhist and Taoist temple in Pulau Batam and it is also considered as one of the largest in all of Southeast Asia. It can support hundreds of worshipers at any given time with its numerous prayer halls. Some of the halls in the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya are dedicated to the goddess of mercy known as Guang Ying and Sidharta Gaotama, the god of war known as Kuan Gong and others.
Aside from being a place for worship and meditation for Taoist and Buddhist devotes, the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya is also a place where Buddhism is taught as well.
