Hunan University
The history of Hunan University can be traced back to the Song Dynasty, which was more than a thousand years old. This makes it arguably the oldest known university in the whole world. Today, it is considered as one of the most important universities in the country not just because of its lifespan, but because of the fact that this was where Mao Zedong studied before he became the leader of the People's Republic of China.
