The Beijing Museum of Natural History has four main exhibits, namely paleontology, zoology, botany and anthropology. These exhibits depict a vivid picture of the evolution of life on this planet. These exhibits have popularized life sciences to the general public. With donations from the Beijing Municipality and Mr. Tian Jiabing,the Tian Jiabing Building was completed. It covers an area of 3,600 square meters and it is the largest in scale and has the best in equipment in China. There are over 200 thousand specimens in the museum today which include rare species.
