Yongla Gompa
Yongla Gompa was founded by Kheydrup Jigme Kundel. He chose this site based on a vision that he had when Dechen Gyalmo appeared to him and guided him to this place. Once the spirit confirmed that this was the place, he meditated here and soon enough, people coming from nearby villages came to him for blessings and teachings which he gave. He was able to attract disciples soon after. A year after his death, construction of the Yongla Gompa was started which was finished in 1736.
Today, this monastery is one of the most popular in Bhutan.
