Do remember that many taxi drivers always want to get a few more money from tourists, believing that foreigners are all rich.

A common trick is they will take your payment , and then claim that you have shortchanged them.  Then they will hold up the money you gave them, and then lo and behold - it appears that they are telling the truth, even if you know you paid the right amount or even more.  Thus, you will have no choice but to pay up, or risk trouble in a country you pretty much know nothing about.

To avoid these sticky situations, never pay inside a cab.  Go out first, and then ask the driver to hold out his hand and then slowly put your payment one by one, counting as you go.  And then walk off.
