On the site of the Pul-i-Khisti Mosque, there was once a small mosque which was built by Shah Zaman and has been incorporated in this newer, larger mosque. The Pul-i-Khisti Mosque was carefully designed using tiles. Each of these tiles was carefully built by a master tike maker from a mosque workshop in Herat.
The Pul-i-Khisti Mosque stands to the right of a bridge in Kabul. A row of two story shops can also be found behind the mosque which has been there since 1964 which offers various local goods.
